The eighth sign of the Greek zodiac is Scorpio.  The scorpion is in its full power from October 23 to November 21.  In the northern hemisphere, this encompasses the festivals of mid autumn, Halloween, Samhain, Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving in the US, and harvest festivals of the north.  This marks the beginning of the dark time, when all in the northern temperate regions sleeps.  This is a time when, according to many spiritual traditions, the veils between the dimensions are thin and communication between is easy.  The symbology of Scorpio reflects this time of year.
