Hand Knit Wool Scarf
This 72 inch by 6 inch white scarf is hand knit from hand spun wool. I start with soft and warm corriedale sheep's wool and gently wash and process it for spinning. I then spin this springy yarn for the shawls and scarves.
Corriedale wool is a garment wool from a breed of sheep that originated in England. While this is not a common breed of sheep in most of the world, it is fairly easy to get for most hand spinners. To wash this scarf, simply soak in cool water with a little shampoo, rinse in the same temperature water, squeeze out, and air dry flat. Block it while it is still wet.
