Polished Nether's Flint Ridge Flint Pendant
Flint Ridge flint is a spectacular stone from Ohio, USA. This 1.75 inch by 1 inch polished specimen is wrapped with 12 gauge copper wire to create this colorful pendant. It comes with leather cord so it can be worn as is as a necklace. Or use it as a beautiful centerpiece for your own creation.
This "flint" is actually a highly workable churt that has historically been knapped or chipped into arrow heads, blades and scrapers by the ancient inhabitants of the region. This small vein of flint was so prized, that the land around the vein was considered sacred ground and acted as a gathering place for the region. Ancient tools from this flint have been found all over the continental US and into southern Canada. At this time, most of the flint from this vein is from the Miller mine or the Nether's mine.
