This set is hand made from solid copper wire. I create these snakes one at a time from bits of recycled wire then hammer them to set the curves and harden the pieces. The earrings are mounted on stainless steel hooks and measure 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. The pendant comes with leather necklace lace and measures 2.75 inches long by 1 inch wide.
The snake is a very powerful symbol in most cultures. Sometimes difficult, sometimes positive. It is the symbol of transmutation. The snake sheds its skin as it grows, reminding us to shed the past that does not serve us and move into our future unburdened. It is also used as the symbol of the medical and healing arts.
